Description
23" (58 cm.) x 13"d. x 16"h. A grand and elaborately-
constructed sewing chest of exotic woods inlaid with other
fine wood in floral and geometric designs on virtually
every section and lid,has ebony trim. The lid hinges open
to reveal beveled mirror on the inside lid,and three
levels of trays on the interior,the upper tray with an
elaborate arrangement of small boxes and niches,each with
carved bone knob,and with secret compartment. Excellent
condition. Germany,circa 1870.
