22" (56 cm.) x 16"d. x 10"h. The large wooden cabinet with ebony finish and gilt accents has spiral columns at each side,beaded edges,and an elaborately carving on the lid which is the coat of arms and crown of Amalie Augusta,Princess of Bavaria and Queen of Saxony (1801- 1877). The chest hinges open and has two opening doors at the front which give access to the large open cabinet on top and two drawers below. The drawers are filled with 22 carved bone sewing tools,and eight wooden thread spools with original silk threads. With original lock and key. Excellent condition. Germany,circa 1860,an important cabinet with royal provenance.
