Description
13" (33 cm.) x 10" x 5". The wooden sewing box has very
elaborate inlays of exotic burled woods on lid and all
four sides,including a castle scene on the center lid,and
opens to elaborately-fitted interior with mirror back,and
elaborately fitted lift-out tray with lidded compartments
with bone knobs,eight wooden thread winders in fitted
slots,pencil tray,and fringed velvet pincushion; the tray
disguises the hidden love letter section below. Excellent
condition. Germany,circa 1850.
