5" (13 cm.) x 3". A finely-crafted sewing box with mother- of-pearl centering a gilt-framed early engraving of fashionable peoples at the Danube overlook,and with gilt mounts and lock and key. The box opens to a mirrored back and cream velvet base with fitted recesses for the original set of mother-of-pearl sewing tools which comprise scissors,thimble with gold rims,needle case with gold rim,folding knife,bodkin,stiletteo,thread winder and one other tool. Excellent condition. Vienna,circa 1830.
