20" (51 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with plump cheeks, pale blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading and darker iris rims, thick black eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and mutli-feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, separately-modeled applied ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 7 EJ (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1882, the first period of the signature EJ bebe by the firm. Value Points: loveliest bisque and painting enhance the splendid eyes, original early body, wonderful antique dress, undergarments, Jumeau stockings and black leather shoes with brown silk rosettes signed "7 E.J. Depose".
