3" (8 cm.) The heavy necessaire has rich emerald green
enamel finish that is decorated with hand-painted gold
Chinoiserie designs including castle scenes with waving
flags,and has richly-sculpted gold ormolu frame. The case
opens from a button at the front to a rose velvet-lined
and fitted interior containing gold-handled folding
scissors with silver blades,gold needle holder and a
petite gold thimble with alternating vertical bands of
plain,geometric and floral designs. Excellent condition.
French,circa 1860,of very luxury quality.
