Description
12" (30 cm.) x 10" x 5". A wooden box is elaborately-
decorated with embossed gilt papers,beveled mirrored edges
and a central lithograph depicting Prague with
lithographerå°½ stamp of V. Morstadt. Inside are two
removable trays with various glass-topped
compartments,each containing an exquisite cut-paper and
embroidered card with a friendship message,along with red
velvet pincushions and gilt edging. Below the trays is a
hidden compartment containing a music box inscribed N.O.
3304 which operates from a keywind at the side. Excellent
condition,one mirror crack,music functions well.
Viennese,early 19th century,a very beautiful sewing box
with poignant history.
