6" (15 cm.) x 4 1/2". The flat wooden case with painted
red finish and oil-painting depicting an interior scene
with three persons,with excellent detail of architecture
and furnishings,Inside is a mirrored back with cord edging
and green velvet base with fitted recesses for the
original silver sewing tools,comprising
scissors,knife,stiletto,needle case,and thimble.
Excellent condition. Vienesse,early 1800s,painting appears
to be from a series of which #275 of this book is another
related scene.
