Description
5" (13 cm.) x 3". The wooden box has gilt-tooled leather
cover that centers an oil painting depicting three men at
shipwrecked island,one with binoculars watching the
hopeful arrival of another ship and the other two seated
forlornly; the box opens to a mirrored back and neatly-
fitted velvet lining containing gold sewing
tools,including scissors with silver blades,gold thimble
with two-color gold border,needle case,stiletto,mother-of-
pearl knife,and more. Excellent condition. Germany,circa
1860.
