Bisque socket head,blue glass sleep eyes that open and close from a metal screw at the back of her head,painted lashes and brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with shaded lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 8 (and artist checkmarks) Bebe Jumeau Diplome d'Honneur (body label). Comments: Emile Jumeau,circa 1886,his first sleeping eye mechanism,which involved the turning of a simple metal screw at the back of the head was registered in that year. Value Points: beautiful doll with creamy complexion,very rare earliest deposed eye system of Jumeau,with original silk Jumeau couturier dress,and original signed Jumeau shoes.
