13" (33 cm.) Bisque shoulder head,blue glass inset eyes,painted features,closed mouth with painted teeth,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig,attached to cylinder torso with long stick hand; the torso contains a musical box and the doll has original rose and ivory jester costume with pom-pom trim. When the figure is twirled about music plays and the costume elements and pom-poms merrily swing. Marks: Fabrication Francaise A.L. & Cie Limoges 4/0. Excellent condition. An especially charming and well-preserved example of the charming French party marotte,circa 1900.
