Description
12" (30 cm.) and 7". Each is one-piece bisque head, torso and legs, loop-jointed arms with starfish-shaped modeling of hands, sculpted blonde forelock curl, topknot and side curls, dot brows, large round side-glancing painted eyes with black fringed upper lashes, tiny nose tip, thin line smile, blue wings. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: O'Neill (feet, and the smaller with original red heart paper label). Comments: Kewpie, made in Germany, from designs by American artist Rose O'Neill, circa 1910. Value Points: the cheerful pair includes the large size of the all-bisque classic standing Kewpie, with exemplary bisque and painting. Private collection Merle Glickman.
