18" (46 cm.) Walnut spinning wheel with elaborately carved spindles is decorated with balls and finials of carved bone, as well as inlaid wood designs of a lighter shade. The spinning wheel works when the foot treadle is pumped up and down. An exceptional and well-detailed early miniature model. French, mid-19th century.
