16" (41 cm.) Bisque socket head with plump round face and flat-cut neck socket designed to accommodate to distinctive body style,blue glass inset eyes with spiral threading,darker blue outer rims,and prominent black pupils,dark eyeliner,short dark painted lashes,wide feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with accented lips,pierced ears,auburn mohair wig,original pink plaster pate,Schmitt composition and wooden eight-loose-ball jointed body with protruding dowel at throat for head attachment,and flat-cut derriere. Condition: old hairline at back of head,otherwise excellent,original body finish. Marks: 1 Bte SGDG. Comments: Schmitt et Fils,circa 1878. Value Points: rare deposed model with distinctive head and body,lovely bisque and eyes,finest bisque and painting,beautiful antique costume.
