15" (38 cm.) doll. 19" sedan chair. Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,grey glass enamel inset eyes,painted lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with outlined lips,un-pierced ears,pale blonde mohair wig,kid poupee body with square-cut collarette and gusset-jointing at hips and knees,bisque lower arms. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F (head). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,circa 1867,the earliest version of his smiling poupee. Value Points: rare signed poupee has finest bisque and painting,outstanding very elaborate coiffure in the 18th century style,fine silk dress with metallic thread decorations,and is presented in a woven chaise-a-porteur with gilded finish,upholstered in aqua silk with silk fringe trim.
