Description
26" (66 cm.) Wax over paper mache shoulder head,brown
glass sleep eyes which operate from a wire lever in front
torso,tinted facial features,closed mouth,brunette hand-
tied human hair wig in tight ringlet curls,muslin stitch-
jointed body with elongated limbs,muslin upper arms,black
kidskin lower arms to appear as though gloves. Condition:
craquelure to wax and fading of features,wire eyes
function well,body original and sturdy,wig excellent.
Comments: English,circa 1850. Value Points: rare wire-
lever eyes,rare stitched-on black gloves,wearing original
hand-stitched costume comprising hand-woven linen
gown,hand-woven silk/linen petticoat with black
trim,woolen petticoat,pantalets,red woolen booties,velvet
bonnet with unusual silk ribbon trim,and is preserved
under original glass dome.
