12" (30 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque
shoulder plate with modeled bosom and shoulder
blades,large brown glass paperweight inset eyes,dark
eyeliner,painted curly lashes,feathered brows,accented
nostrils and eye corners,"O"-shaped open mouth designed
for baby bottle nipple insertion,pierced ears,blonde
mohair wig over cork pate,French kid bebe body with
scalloped-edge collarette,gusset-jointing at hips and
knees,curved arms with bisque forearms,separately-sculpted
fingers. Condition: generally excellent,original firing
speckles on back shoulder plate. Marks: Bru Jne 4 (mark
partially illegible due to metal screw insertion)
(original Bru paper label on torso). Comments: Leon
Casimir Bru,circa 1882,the model marketed as Bebe
Teteur,with original rubber ball and metal screw system
described in the 1882 depose. Value Points: rare deposed
Bru bebe has original early Bru body in near mint
condition,with original paper label,and having perfect
bisque hands,with original gown,undergarments and ruffled
bonnet.
