Description
11" (28 cm.) Each has carved wooden head,firmly-stuffed muslin body,wooden lower arms and legs. Included is aged man with incised wrinkles narrow eyes with well-defined eye sockets,hollows below the eyes,bald pate with slightly-painted hair with real hair queue; woman with side-parted hair; Amah with black painted hair in unusual geometric cut at sides of head and with chignon at the back,and young man with side-parted hair. Condition: generally excellent,costume of woman is frail. Comments: Chinese Door of Hope Mission,circa 1930s. Value Points: each doll is wearing its original traditional costume,handsewn at the Mission,in authentic detail,of fine silks and cottons.
