Description
8" (20 cm.) Bisque swivel head on bisque torso with
extended neck,sculpted brown hair in short ringlet curls
captured by a blue sculpted hair ribbon,painted brown
side-glancing eyes,black upper eyeliner,white
eyedots,short feathered brows,rounded nose,closed mouth
with smiling expression and tiny beaded teeth,loop-jointed
bisque arms and legs,sculpted and painted white bobby
socks and brown shoes with bow straps,antique romper
dress. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Igodi 3.
Comments: from a series of all-bisque dolls presented by
Gebruder Heubach in 1913,this example notable for its
swivel head system invented by Johannes Gotthilf
Dietrich,trade-named Igodi; the rare system is detailed in
the German Doll Encyclopedia by Cieslik. Value Points:
rare swivel head on this all-bisque series gives a fine
realistic detail,enhanced the fine facial characterization
and painting.
