Description
14" (36 cm.) Each is all-composition doll with sienna-brown complexion, painted facial features, dark eyes, full rich lips, five-piece body, wearing original silk and velvet costumes with padded turban, "jewel" trim, and gold slippers with upturned toes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (original paper hang tag labeled "A Thief of Bagdad Creation" on one side with an illustration of the doll, and "Authentic Dolls inspired by Alexander Korda��_��_s Thief of Bagdad, I am Sabu, Created by Molly-e" on the opposite side). Comments: Molly-e, circa 1940, inspired by the 1940 British film which was completed in Hollywood after the breakout of WWI in London, and won several Academy Awards that year. Value Points: the dolls are preserved in fine original condition, with vibrant original colors of costume, original tag.
