17" (43 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head,painted blonde boyish cropped hair,painted pale blue eyes with heavy eyelids,black upper eyeliner,short angled brows,rounded nose with accent dots,closed mouth modeled as though open,composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 3. Comments: Germany,circa 1910,attributed to Franz Schmidt. Value Points: exceptionally fine detail of facial modeling with deeply impressed cheek dimples,double chin,eye crinkles,original body finish,and wearing fine antique mariner costume.
