Description
9" (23 cm.) Each has carved wooden head with highly-
defined features of an aged couple,carved wrinkles in
forehead,at eye corners and around the mouth,tiny carved
eye sockets with tinted eyes,each with muslin body and
wooden hands. Condition: generally excellent. Comments:
Chinese Door of Hope Mission,1930s. Value Points: very
fine carving on the rarely found pair,each with unusual
detail of painted thinning hair,the woman with carved
chignon,and the man with added queue,and each wearing
original hand-stitched silk costume.
