Description
21" (53 cm.) Each is all hard plastic with socket head and
five-piece body,and has blue green sleep eyes,elongated
lashes,dark eye shadow,hand-painted lashes and
brows,closed mouth with coral-shaded lips. Condition:
generally excellent,unplayed with only slight lace wear on
sleeves of bride. Comments: two rare models from the so-
called mystery portrait series presented by Madame
Alexander in 1951 and for which she was awarded the
stellar Fashion Academy award. Included is the Victorian
Bride with exquisitely draped fitted wedding gown with
lace modesty panels and lower skirt,bouquet,elaborate
blonde coiffure with arranged curls and coronet of
flowers; and the Champs-Elysee Lady with fitted gown of
embroidered ecru lace with high neck and designed with
taffeta ruffled skirt with train,with embroidered tulle
purse and woven bonnet with flowers. Each costume is
tagged. Value Points: very rare dolls,now more than a
half-century old,are remarkably preserved; few examples
are known to exist.
