Description
18" (46 cm.) Each is firmly-pressed cloth head with defined facial features,oil-painted brown curly hair,complexion and facial features with tiny closed mouth and blushed cheeks,on original slender firmly-stuffed muslin body with oil-painted hands,stockings and shoes,and each in early cotton costume. Condition: fair/good,original finish albeit scuffed and with some craquelure. Marks: I.F. Walker's Patent Nov.4 1873 (original paper label on back of girl). Comments: important patent- labeled model by the important American doll maker,Izannah Walker of Rhode Island,circa 1873. Value Points: the boy and girl pair are notable for their unusual facial modeling,the boy with large brown painted eyes and blue painted stockings; the girl with very chubby cheeks and dimpled chin,blue painted eyes,and pink painted stockings,rare original paper label.
