14" (36 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead of young man with oval-shaped face, bald pate and back of head, brown tufts of curls at forehead and in front of sculpted ears sculpted to appear as though wind-blown, enamel eyes, large nose, open mouth with tongue and row of modeled teeth, tow-wrapped armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted blue stockings and black shoes with red buckles, wearing silk twill jacket and pants, velvet vest. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, highly-characterized facial expression with beautifully-preserved original finish.
