Description
12" (30 cm.) diam. 15"l. Solid domed bisque head with
flanged neck,brown painted baby hair with forelock
curl,almond-shaped brown glass sleep eyes,dark
eyeliner,painted curly lashes,tinted brows,accented
nostrils,open mouth with slightly-parted lips and two
porcelain upper teeth,cloth body in classic Bye-lo
manner,celluloid hands,antique baby costume. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: 45 (head) Copr. by Grace S.
Putnam Pat. Appl'd for (torso). Comments: the model
closely resembles the so-called Smiling Bye-lo,but
designer is uncertain,Germany,circa 1923. Value Points:
very rare model with fine bisque and painting,antique
costume.
