Description
11" (28 cm.) A porcelain pedestal has opening at the
front, designed to serve as a heating element for the pot
that rests on top; the pot has a long dowel that fits into
an opening at the top of the pedestal. The pot is
decorated with an amusing scene of a monkey in lady's
costume, his tail serving as the pot handle, holding a dog
which is frantically trying to escape, the dog's open mouth
serving as the spout. The detail of decoration includes
clusters of Dresden flowers,also on the monkey's hat,and a
child's head is peeking out the backside of the pedestal.
Excellent condition. Germany,mid-19th century.
