Description
13" (33 cm.) x 13" cushion. Posed atop a softly-padded
peach silk cushion with braid trim is a bisque-head lady
with blue glass eyes,painted features,open mouth,four
porcelain teeth,pierced ears,and blonde mohair wig,with
bisque shoulder plate,composition jointed arms,and
elegantly-draped gown of silk and lace that disguises her
lack of body. In fact,when the skirt is lifted,there is
revealed inside a beautiful silk tufted compartment for
jewelry or other treasures. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: 1159 Germany Halbig S&H 4 (head).
Comments: for the luxury French market,circa 1900. Value
Points: wonderfully-preserved and rare to find boudoir
accessory with luxury detailing.
