Description
14" (36 cm.) Bisque socket head with flattened solid
dome,and with a different face on front and back of head
which can be alternately revealed by turning the knob at
the head crown; one head having ebony black complexion
with black glass eyes,painted features and closed mouth;
and the other head having white complexion with blue glass
eyes,painted lashes and brows,closed mouth with smiling
expression and dimpled cheeks. The head is enclosed in a
carton hood which attaches to the torso and which hides
the alternate head,composition and wooden fully-jointed
body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 202 dep 5
(head) Geschutzt (torso). Comments: Simon and Halbig,circa
1890. Value Points: very rare multi-face model with two
beautifully-sculpted faces,and having finest bisque and
painting.
