26" (66 cm.) Bisque socket head,blue glass paperweight inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted
lashes,brush-stroked and feathered brows,accented eye corners,shaded nostrils,closed mouth
with shaded and outlined lips,pierced ears,soft blonde mohair wig over cork pate,French
composition and wooden fully-jointed body,pull-string "Mama" and "Papa" crier with blue and
rose beads. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 12 (and artists'
checkmarks) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau,circa 1886,the bebe
is presented in her original box with rare blue lettering and poem "Conte Bleu" on the inside
lid. The promotional poem was commissioned by Jumeau and appeared in various publications
as well as,rarely,doll boxes. Value Points: a beautiful doll in pristine unplayed-with
condition,with original chemise,wig (marked 12),rose silk corset (marked 12),rose knit
stockings,brown leather shoes with rosettes and figure of doll (marked 12),and with original
earrings,and in original box.
