19" (48 cm.) Solid domed composition head with flanged neck,sculpted red hair in neatly-
arranged style,sleep brown eyes,closed mouth in broad smile with painted teeth,rosy complexion
and liberally-sprinkled freckles overall his face and ears,cloth body,composition hands.
Condition: generally excellent. Comments: depicted is Howdy Doody,circa 1948,released by
Effanbee during the second year of the popular children's TV show; attached to the doll is an
original paper label with a hand-written notation "For Lorraine & Elaine,May 11,Wed. 1949 from
Mother & Dad". Value Points: pristine condition of the beloved character from early TV,wearing
crisp fresh costume with Howdy Doody neck scarf,and preserved in his original box with colorful
decorations and the theme "Howdy Doody,America's Favorite Cowboy".
