16" (41 cm.) Popeye. Popeye is cloth with stitch-shaped head,stitched-on nose and
ears,painted features,corn-cob pipe at side of mouth,muslin stitch-jointed body with
muscular shoulders and printed tattoos on arms,composition feet,wearing cloth sailor suit and
cap; along with Olive Oyl with pressed oil cloth head having painted black hair with pointy
pony tail to match her extended nose,"O" shaped eyes,downcast lips,muslin body with sewn-
on over-sized feet,original red cotton dress; and Swee'Pea with mask-pressed face having
wide googly-shaped eyes,button nose,and crooked smile,original baby bunting and cap.
Condition: very good,some surface dust. Marks: (Popeye and Olive Oyl have original humorous
paper labels from Effanbee). Comments: Effanbee,1930s. Value Points: very rare
models,Popeye and Olive Oyl have their especially rare original paper labels.
