13" (33 cm.) Composition socket head,brown sleep eyes,mohair lashes,real lashes,arched
brows,blonde mohair wig with bangs and braids,five-piece composition body. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: Effanbee Patricia (doll). Comments: Effanbee,circa 1934,with use of
Patricia model head,inspired by the film,"Anne of Green Gables" of that year,played by the actress
Dawn O'Day,who changed her name to Anne Shirley after making this film (and,as a side
note,then inspired the Effanbee Anne-Shirley series of dolls). Value Points: rare model in very
fine state of preservation,fine original complexion and wig,wearing original (tagged) plaid school
dress with matching drawers,shoes,socks,yellow felt hat,and presented in original box with
original brass heart bracelet and original paper label "I am Anne Shirley".
