Description
13" (33 cm.) All-composition doll with one-piece head,torso and legs,jointed arms,painted black
boots. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Buddy Lee,circa 1940,from the line of
promotional dolls featuring uniform costumes of the H.D.Lee company; the dolls were created as
display mannequins for the uniform company. Value Points: wearing very rare khaki serge
uniform and cap with embroidered label "Hubbard Sunshine"; according to research by Don
Jensen,the doll is wearing the uniform of Hubbard Milling Co of Minnesota which offered a
diverse line of milled cereals and cake flour. No other example of this uniform is known to exist
at this time.
