Description
11" (28 cm.) Solid domed composition head depicting adult man, flanged neck, sculpted brown
hair combed away from face, painted facial features, blue side-glancing eyes, closed mouth with
modeled row of teeth, muslin body with sewn-on black cloth shoes,disc-jointed arms and
legs, composition hands. Condition: very good. Comments: according to Don Jensen's
research, the doll represents William Boyd, the early Hollywood actor,as Hopalong ( Boyd had
purchased all licensing rights to the Hopalong Cassidy character during the 1930s) yet curiously
wears the classic costume as depicted in the earlier books. Value Points: the handsome character
ihas floppy-brimmed hat,blue cotton shirt,neck scarf,holster and toy pistol,and yellow faux-
suede pants.
