16" (41 cm.) doll. 28" x 24" case. Papier-mache shoulder head with sculpted black hair arranged ornately with pouf curls at the sides and Apollo knot at the crown,painted large blue eyes,painted eyeliner,brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth,slender kid body with pink kid arms,wearing original silk gown,black tablier,undergarments,and holding shepherd's crook. Condition: generally excellent,some old repair on shoulder plate. Comments: Germany,circa 1850. Value Points: the large early model with wonderful coiffure is presented in original wooden-framed cabinet with a circlet of hand-made colorful wool flowers and leaves,and little flannel-coat papier-mache lambs at her feet.
