22" (56 cm.) Thick-paste pink-tinted porcelain lady with heart-shaped face slightly tilted forward,elongated throat with defined hollow,defined bosom,fully-sculpted ears,painted brown downcast eyes with white eyedots,red and black upper eyeliner,single stroke brows,elegantly- shaped nose,closed mouth with extended center line,brunette hand-tied human hair wig,early hand-stitched muslin body,original porcelain arms. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Lippert & Haas of Schlaggenwald,circa 1850. Value Points: the rarity of the doll is rivaled by its eloquent beauty,artistic workmanship,and complete originality of early costume. The doll was acquired by Estelle Johnston from a museum in Northern England many years ago.
