23" (58 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,small grey glass enamel
inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes and brows,shaded nostrils,closed mouth with accented
lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,padded-stockinette-over-metal armature
body,bisque hands,bisque lower legs and bare feet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F.G.
(head) (faint Gesland stamp on body). Comments: Gaultier,with rare body deposed by Charles
Ernest Pannier in 1872 and made by Gesland,circa 1872. Value Points: superbly preserved
condition of the rare doll in rare larger size and with especially beautiful face,exquisite
sculpting of hands and feet,wearing very fine antique costume with enamel buttons,watch and
aqua enamel fob,aqua jewelry and leather ankle boots. The doll has a blue ribbon award from
1978 UFDC convention.
