Description
10" (25 cm.) doll. Carved one-piece head and torso with egg-shaped head and flat-back shaped- front torso,painted complexion and facial features,outlined large black eyes,single stroke brows,thin-line mouth,blush spots on cheeks,linen arms (no defined hands may be original),wooden legs with hip jointing,defined shoes. Condition: very good,original finish well preserved. Comments: English,late 18th century. Value Points: rare baby size and original costume and bonnet,the doll is presented in a bed whose sides are formed of pressed brass fruits and leaves,with high mirrored head board. The doll has a blue ribbon from 1996 UFDC convention.
