21" (53 cm.) All hard plastic with socket head and five-piece body,blue sleep eyes,very thick
elongated lashes,dark eye shadow,hand-painted lashes and brows,red lips,blonde hair with
original clusters of curls at her forehead and pulled back into an arrangement of curls at the
crown and another arrangement at her nape. Condition: near mint. Comments: Madame
Alexander,from her series of six portrait dolls with hand-painted features created in
1951.Value Points: perhaps the finest example of the Victorian Bride known to still
exist,wearing an intricately-constructed ivory satin two-piece tagged gown with padded
draped bosom,shoulder drapes,and a skirt that features knee-length draping at the front
above a lace and satin lower skirt,and an elaborate five-tier-bustle arrangement at the back;
the bustles are of graduated size and extend nearly to floor level; with lace covering her arms
and bodice and an extended-length fine lace coiffe and train. matching satin
panties,stockings,and cream slippers,original floral coronet,floral bouquet,and cameo brooch;
the doll is being sold from the original family owners.
