Description
29" (74 cm.) Solid domed wax-over-papier-mache shoulder head with heart-shaped face,blue
enamel inset eyes,dark eyeliner,arched brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth
with row of painted teeth and slight smile,brunette human hair,muslin stitch-jointed body,wax-
over-papier-mache lower arms and legs with defined separate fingers. Condition: good,original
finish albeit light craquelure and spotty wax on facial complexion. Comments: English,circa
1850. Value Points: most unusual and expressive features on the early child,with painted teeth
and smiling expression,wearing superb blue velvet gown with silk fringe,undergarments,bonnet.
