17" (43 cm.) Pale bisque shoulder head with plump facial modeling,cobalt blue glass enamel
eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed
mouth with accent line between the lips,un-pierced ears,brunette mohair wig over cork
pate,all-wooden body with swivel waist,dowel-jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips and
knees,separately-carved fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: B. 4 S. Comments:
Blampoix,circa 1860. Value Points: beautiful bisque with contrasting dramatic eyes,wonderful
early wooden body,wearing original brown velvet and turquoise silk walking suit with
matching bonnet,undergarments including hooped petticoat,aqua ankle boots signed C.C. The
doll owns her antique trunk with unusual hinged top and hidden compartment,along with
three additional dresses,various other jackets,blouse,skirts,and accessories including woven
bonnet,bone-handled parasol,metal basket with jewelry,rare skates,silver crown,two pairs of
gloves,handkerchief,brush and mirror,bone fan with painted silk panels in original box,and
another fan with hand-painted court scene,and more.
