11" (25 cm.) Papier-mache shoulder head with sculpted black hair in chignon,painted facial
features,blue eyes,painted brows and eyeliner,closed mouth,slender kid body with wooden lower
limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: for the English trade with original German
papier-mache doll,circa 1850. Value Points: wonderfully-preserved model with excellent
painting,wearing elaborate multi-layered original costume and holding a well-laden tray of
miniature market wares including tiny Grodnertal dolls,baskets,sampler,sewing goods and other
novelties,on wooden base with blown glass dome.
