Description
6" (15 cm.) A wooden frame with deep shadowbox has unusual wood curl chips that center a wax
figure of a young girl with painted long curly golden locks, painted facial features, sculpted wax
bonnet, belt, purse and dress with printed flowers. She is mounted on a wooden base and little
wax lamb stands beside her. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Continental,mid-
1800s,the wax figures were often presented as little gift, particularly as figural Valentines; this
example appears to depict the beloved poem Mary had a Little Lamb. Value Points: beautifully-
preserved object with fine detail of workmanship.
