17" (43 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with painted facial features,shaded blue eyes,thick black
upper eyeliner,feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with accented
lips,kid poupee body with gusset-jointing,stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally
excellent. Comments: French,circa 1875. Value Points: wearing elaborate couturier-quality nun's
habit constructed by Estelle Johnston of fine grey wool with starched fluted wimple and scapula
embroidery inspired by a 19th century book on designs of the era.
