Description
10" (25 cm.) Each has heavy card stock foundation that is decorated with artistic
papers,mirrors,and miniature seashells to simulate carving. Included are three mirrored dressing
tables or chests with hinged tops or drawers,designed as a bon-bon box from a luxury candy
store (presumably of seaside France) and intended for later use as dollhouse furnishing or
sewing box. Two with unusual lithograph scenes,and each with similar paper backing suggesting
a common unknown maker. French,mid-19th century.
