Description
7 1/2" (19 cm.) -11". Each has wooden head with carved facial features,carved and/or painted hair,lightly-tinted eyes,brows and lips,cloth body with wooden hands. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: from the Chinese Door of Hope mission,circa 1920s; funds for the mission,which sponsored children and young girls,were raised by marketing of the wooden dolls wearing exquisitely hand-sewn traditional Chinese costumes of various social groups and ages. Value Points: Included is man with incised wrinkles (few age spots),woman with chignon,little proud boy,and a wonderful little girl with pom-pom trimmed cap and animal slippers.
