11" (28 cm.) Carved wood one-piece figure of baby whose torso and legs are enclosed in a swaddling blanket,and with attached outstretched arms in a beckoning pose,separately-sculpted fingers,very plump facial shape,enamel inset brown eyes,defined lips of closed mouth,accented nostrils,blushed cheeks and chin,wiry light brown curly hair under metallic-thread cloth cap,the bunting painted burgundy with defined wrapping cord and filigree "lace" design. Condition: generally excellent,early restorative touch-up to painted details. Comments: Continental,late 18th century. Value Points: most appealing expression,artistic painting of features and blanket,enamel eyes,rare outstretched arms.
