14" (36 cm.) Composition head posed uptilted with amusing caricature features such as "bug"
eyes,long nose and wide beaming smile,brunette mohair wig,muslin body with disc-jointed
limbs,celluloid hands. Condition: generally excellent,little nose rub. Comments: depicted is
"Toto" from illustrations by the Parisian cartoonist,Raoul Guerin,early 20th century; his quirky
characters created with a deft light sketch appeared in newspapers such as Le Journal,and,as in
this case,were occasionally created as dolls. Value Points: rare character with distinctive
features,original body and costume of French schoolboy.
