13" (33 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead of slender-faced lady, dark brown sculpted hair with short forehead curls, then brushed back into a tightly-braided coiled chignon, heavily-lidded enamel eyes, closed mouth, defined throat hollow and bosom, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs with painted blue stockings and tan painted shoes with red buckles, wearing well-fitted silk dress with laced bodice, pleated cuffs, woven apron. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, rare coiffure and lovely gentle expression with soft blushing, especially fine costume.
